Lot Magic Gathering
In Magic the Gathering, can a spell that lowers power and toughness destroy a creature ?
For instance, if i play Fodder Launch which says “target creature gets -5/-5 until the end of turn” to a creature that has, let’s say, 3/3, does it destroy that creature ? or does it leave it to 1/1 ? hope i’m making sense. could anybody maybe post a link to where i can find this explained pls ? like an official rulebook or something. thx a lot.
The creature is not “destroyed”. It is put into it’s owner’s graveyard as a State Based Effect. Any creature with toughness equal to or less than 0 is automatically put into the graveyard. There is no time or way to save that creature. You can check wizards.com and then search for the Comprehensive rules in the “Search Wizards” section on the top of the screen. It will bring you a site that has the Comprehensive rules in it.
