3 Pokemon card questions. First Edition, Foils, and prices?
1. I heard when I was younger than the cards that have skinny text for the HP were first editions. Is this true or is it just a misprint. 2nd and 2.5, what do unlimited, reverse, standard foils mean? And what is the foils where the card is shiny but the picture of the Pokemon is not. And lastly, where is a (FREE!) site where I can get up to date pricing on my cards from Base up?
I'll answer them in order
1) A card is only first edition if it has the circular text '1st edition' below the picture on the left hand side. Anything else doesn't count. Although if you have a misprint or shadowless card it usually is worth more than the 'normal' version.
2)Reverse (foil) means that the whole card except the pokemon artwork is shiny. They can be any card, even common and trainer cards, and aren't worth much more than their normal counterpart. standard foil is another way of saying holographic (i.e. the artwork is shiny).
3)ebay if you're plan on selling these cards, I advise against looking at pokemon price guide sites. These are generally overpriced.
